Mary Livingstone is a name which hasn’t transcended the decades very well. However, if you’re in anyway a fan of classic radio, you’ve undoubedtly heard of this talented performer. Mary Livingstone started as the wife of a young vaudeville comedian Jack Benny. However, she was soon pulled into his burgeoning radio career. Before long, Mary Livingstone was co-star in Benny’s long-running radio series. She was a talented comedianne, able to easily trade barbs with, and go toe to toe with her talented husband.
Living openly struggled with stage fright, and gradually stepped away from the industry as Jack Benny’s work moved to television.
Livingstone passed away in 1983 at the age of 78.
